Record whether the next fixture changes stroke, moving load, reversal frequency or mounting plane. Each change can require a different screw ratio, current draw and holding method. A no-load speed demonstration does not prove a loaded duty cycle at the buyer’s ambient temperature.
Ask which limit switches, wipers, mounting pins and spare cables are included versus consumable, and whether a different controller or feedback cable is assumed after changeover. Those items often sit outside a base-actuator line.
Agree how stroke completion, extension time at the stated load and holding after power loss will be measured, then record recovery after an interrupted move. Keep that record so FAT language can repeat the same trial.
An electric linear actuator RFQ is useful when replacement geometry and new-build envelopes are split before factories guess. Stroke length without pin-to-pin distance, side-load path and work envelope is not a complete mechanical brief. We collect those splits so manufacturers quote the same envelope rather than mixing a bare actuator price with an installed motion package.
If a hydraulic or older electric cylinder is being replaced, write remaining pin centres, rod-end type, and whether the machine still carries side load in the actuator rather than in a guide. A catalog stroke in millimetres without the retracted length is not a drop-in envelope.
Write the force throughout the stroke, motion direction, required extension time and mounting geometry so a replacement quote is compared on the same envelope.
Name whether the current mechanism already carries side load on a rail. If the actuator is asked to take that load, the factory must confirm buckling and life assumptions rather than copying a dynamic load in newtons from an unloaded table.
A replacement that keeps the same stroke but changes holding at rest still needs a separate holding requirement at maximum ambient temperature.
Ask the factory to restate moving load in newtons through the full stroke and to separate holding load. The supplier confirms ratio, current and thermal assumptions; the buyer owns process data, destination logistics and contract acceptance. Engineering sign-off is not transferred to this sourcing service. Read load-speed pairs and integration quotation items before treating two catalog maxima as one configuration.
